Nigel Connell Homepage 2009
Welcome to the all new Nigel Connell web site.
Hello Friends, as i get ready to embark on a two month tour with Mary Duff to Australia and Tasmania, I must let you know my Album is finally near completion.
What a year of music and travelling the world awaits me.Just a little over one month ago I received a call from Daniel O Donnell's manager, I was asked to join Daniels Band as his new drummer and gladly I excepted the offer.
This is an amazing experience for me, not only to tour with such a professional, but a terrific Ambassador for our country. I will also get to sing on the shows which will see us perform in such venues as The O2 Arena in Dublin and London to name a few.
As you know this is the dream of a lifetime for me, growing up playing in my Parents band since the age of thirteen I was raised listening to my family sing songs from Daniel, to Margo, Buck Owens to Jim Reeves.. I will look forward to this new challenge that awaits me, and look forward to all the new friends I will meet along the way.
Finally I want to thank all the people who have supported me in my solo career, and please check my website for updates on new concerts to come.
Please Note The O2 Arena in October is completly sold out.

************ RECENT PRESS RELEASE*************
The Jack and Jill’s Children’s Foundation have announced that on Friday, 11th July 2008, they will be releasing their first ever charity song nationwide. The release of this single will enable the foundation to continue to raise much needed funds for the children and families they provide home respite care for.
The track entitled “Keela Mae” is a personal tribute written by upcoming Irish singer songwriter Nigel Connell and co writer Dan Malone. The duo scripted the moving ballad after the tragic loss of a young baby late last year. On hearing the song Jonathan Irwin, founder of The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, felt the message definitively described the emotional turmoil his charity witnesses every day with families of sick children.
The Foundation helps alleviate the very distressful suffering experienced by tiny babies born with severe developmental delay until they reach the age of four years. Since 1997 the Foundation has assisted in over 850 children and their families all over Ireland and was recognised as Children’s Charity of the Year in 2003. In 2004 Jonathan Irwin had the honour of receiving the prestigious ESB/Rehab Irish Personality of the Year award for his work with the Foundation.
Nigel Connell, an Irish singer songwriter, has been performing within the industry for the last 15 years, featuring as guest artist on Liam Lawton’s platinum selling album “Time” to touring with great Irish legends such as Daniel O’Donnell, Phil Coulter, Rebecca Storm and Mary Duff. With his own new album due for release later this year Nigel has become a highly acclaimed singer in his own right.
“Keela Mae” will be on sale, Friday 11th July in shops nationwide.
It will also be available from Claddagh Records and for download on www.jackandjill.ie or www.nigelconnell.com with all proceeds going to
The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation
